“Hybrid work offers the best of both worlds: flexibility for our employees and the team cohesion that’s vital for our success.”

Sophie’s career has always been rooted in people. Before joining Swace, she worked for many years as a consultant manager, using her background in behavioral science to help organizations create better workplaces. At Swace, she spent two years as HR Manager, shaping the company’s culture and putting employee well-being at the center. That work soon became the foundation for her next step: in July 2020, Sophie was appointed CEO after co-founder Jimmy Heibert chose to focus on Swace’s subsidiary Plick.
“Sophie has been the driving force behind the culture that unites and propels Swace forward,” Jimmy says. “Her HR expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow strategically.”
Co-founder and chairman Tomas Jonsson also sees Sophie’s leadership as a strength: “With Sophie as CEO, we are creating new opportunities in employer branding and industry positioning, crucial for attracting talent and continuing our growth.”
For Sophie, it’s the blend of working closely with a talented team and the personal growth that comes with it. “It’s incredibly rewarding to work with such skilled colleagues. The CEO role challenges me daily, and I’ve learned so much along the way.”
Taking on the CEO role also meant leading through one of the biggest challenges in recent history: the pandemic. “We were fortunate to have continued support from our clients, allowing us to maintain operations remotely,” Sophie recalls. “The shift to digital meetings opened doors to new opportunities, though we took a cautious approach to recruitment at first. Now, we’re back in full swing and actively seeking new talent.”
Like many companies, Swace has since embraced a hybrid model. “We’re adopting a flexible approach that blends remote work with office presence. It’s been effective and supports work-life balance. At the same time, many team members prefer coming in to the office for the camaraderie and connection it provides,” she explains.
Under Sophie’s leadership, Swace continues on a steady path. Awards like Gazelle and Super Company are nice milestones, but what really matters is simple: that our people enjoy working here, and that our clients can rely on what we deliver.
For Sophie, the future is about holding on to that. “We want Swace to keep being a place where people thrive and develop their skills, while we deliver solutions our clients can rely on. Innovation matters, but it’s the people who make it work.

When Sophie Ruth joined Swace in 2017, the company was still in its formative stages. Tasked initially with HR and recruitment, she saw an opportunity to mold a role that was both challenging and rewarding. “Swace’s early commitment to HR spoke volumes about their values,” Sophie reflects. “The freedom to build my role was exhilarating, and stepping into the CEO position was a natural progression.”
