Back when Andrew was finishing his Master’s in IT, he joined Swace to write his thesis and contribute part-time to Plick. He came in eager to learn and quick to share his own ideas, and quickly became more than “just the student.” He was part of the team. At Swace, we see growth as a two-way street: new people bring energy and ideas, and in return we make sure they have the space to develop into bigger roles.

Fast forward, and Andrew’s role has grown alongside us. Today he’s steering projects, shaping complex systems, and guiding others as a tech lead and architect. From thesis notes to leading builds: not a bad trajectory, right?

We never set out with a grand plan for student collaborations. It just grew naturally, with Uppsala University right on our doorstep, and with so many of us at Swace having studied there ourselves, it almost feels like part of our DNA.

For us, it’s about spotting potential, giving people the space to grow, and letting their energy and ideas shape the way we work. Andrew’s journey is proof of that: when talent is nurtured, both the individual and the company benefit.
