Santander wanted to give its digital banking experience a makeover. The goal was simple: make banking easier and less of a hassle, whether it’s applying for a loan or handling your everyday finances. At Swace, we got to take a full-service approach, working closely with their teams across the Nordics.
We gave the frontend a fresh lift with React and Episerver headless CMS and rebuilt the backend with .NET microservices so everything runs faster and more reliably. At the same time, our designers created clear new interfaces and application flows that make even complex products like loans and credit cards easier to understand, and safer to use.
We started by listening to what Santander really needed. Our developers and designers teamed up to make sure the solutions worked reliably in the background and felt effortless up front. We gave the mobile bank a fresh new look and made the loan and credit card application flows simpler, so customers could get through them without friction. On the technical side, we rebuilt the frontend with React and Episerver and set up a new backend with .NET microservices, making the whole system run faster and more reliably. And because banks have to follow strict rules, especially in the Nordics, we made sure the design ticked all the boxes without making life harder for the user. The new design system ties everything together so that all services feel consistent and trustworthy. Clearer flows and friendlier interfaces mean customers can find what they need, compare options, and make confident decisions, without getting stuck along the way.
